With more than 20 years’ experience in PR and communications Amanda is a veteran in news, crisis, corporate and international media handling and with well over half that time spent heading up brand PR at British Airways, she specialises in consumer PR and crisis communications.
Over the course of her career, Amanda has launched new aircraft, ships, brands and customer experiences, announced multi-billion-pound investment programmes, managed merger communications and brought partnerships with organisations such as the British Olympic Association and the RFU to life. She also led British Airways’ year-long Centenary campaign in 2019.
As airlines are regularly dealing with issues and crises, Amanda has managed situations from 9/11, volcanic ash clouds and numerous industrial relations issues to company and customer disruption due to weather events, two crash landings and Covid-19. Amanda also led BA’s PR and customer communications response to a serious data theft affecting nearly 400,000 customers in 2018. She was also responsible for proactive PR and crisis preparedness for BA across Africa, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
