Pagefield is seeking a bright and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a PR & Communications Assistant. This exciting opportunity offers a unique blend of on-the-job training, industry-recognised qualification (level 4 apprenticeship), and the chance to make a real impact alongside experienced professionals.

 

What you will do in your working day

  • Assist senior team members with developing and executing strategic PR campaigns.
  • Research and draft press releases, social media content, speeches, talking points, briefing notes and other communication materials.
  • Schedule and publish engaging content across various social media platforms.
  • Help build and maintain media contact lists for targeted outreach.
  • Pitch press releases to relevant journalists and publications.
  • Assist with media interview preparation for spokespeople.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of client events (e.g., press conferences, product launches).
  • Learn how to use a range of tools to source data and insights to monitor and analyse campaign and coverage performance, providing reports for clients.
  • Conduct research on audiences, competitors, and industry landscapes for clients and new business work.
  • Conduct research on relevant public policy issues, legislation, and community concerns.
  • Assist with legislative affairs, such as tracking bills and communicating with legislators.
  • Conduct basic website content management.
  • Gain exposure to various communication channels and industry best practices.
  • Support with ideas for new business pitches.

 

The training you will be getting

  • Apprentice will receive a Level 4 Apprenticeship and Public Relations and Communications.
  • Training will be delivered on a 1:1 basis remotely and face to face.
  • Monthly sessions or more if you prefer.
  • Attend group workshops with other apprentices.
  • Access to guest speakers in PR Industry.

 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • This apprenticeship is a stepping stone to a rewarding career in PR and communications. Following a successful apprenticeship, at Pagefield you could next be promoted to Researcher. With seven ‘bands’ there is plenty of opportunity to climb the ladder as you get more experience under your belt. You could stay with us, or you’d be in great shape to find another role at other PR and communications agencies. Alternatively, you could get an assistant comms role in-house with another company – just working on one brand as opposed to working across multiple brands, industries and issues.
