Alison has worked in the media for more than 30 years; firstly as a journalist and regional newspaper Editor.
Latterly Alison has built up a portfolio career which has seen her advise all sectors of the media plus business and the third sector. She was a Press Complaints Commissioner; the BBC Trustee for England for eight years, Chairing their Editorial Standards Committee; and Vice President of the British Board of Film Classification. She is on the Board of the Press Association Trust.
Currently she is also on the Board of the Advertising Standards Authority and a non exec on several Boards including Durham University and Motability Operations PLC. At Pagefield she is a senior advisor to Mark and Oliver as well as mentoring their executive team, and works on client crisis communications and training.
