We’re delighted to announce this week that two new senior advisors have joined our ranks, bringing a wealth of Whitehall experience with them.

Firstly, we have John Alty, who used to be the Permanent Secretary at the Department for International Trade (DIT). He has held impressive positions within the civil service across Whitehall, including senior roles at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO). John is also a visiting professor at the London School of Economics (LSE) and sits on the Competition Appeal Tribunal. With John’s trade policy experience and wider experience in the civil service, he will perfectly complement Pagefield’s already extensive experience in public affairs campaigns, providing clients with insightful analysis on how government works as they navigate the complex international landscape.

We are also very happy to welcome Patrick Diamond. Patrick was previously a Senior Policy Advisor at 10 Downing Street during the Tony Blair and Gordon Brown era. He’s currently a Professor of Public Policy at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), and he’s advised on everything from manifestos to devolution and regeneration. Patrick also served as a Labour councillor in the London Borough of Southwark. Patrick’s focus in particular will be supporting clients on issues such as devolution, economic regeneration, and bridging the regional divide.

Our CEO, Oliver Foster, is delighted to have Patrick on board because with the possibility of a new government coming in, Patrick’s deep knowledge of opposition parties and Whitehall dynamics will be extremely important for both our clients and our team. John’s expertise in government machinery is second to none and will be especially helpful as we navigate the UK’s post-Brexit trade agenda.

If you’re looking for support with your political and regulatory affairs strategy, we’d love to hear from you – please drop us a line at hello@pagefield.co.uk.
