Positioning a UK start-up as a global leader in the psychedelics space

Challenge

Pagefield was hired by Clerkenwell Health for its UK ‘launch moment’, to introduce the company to a national and business audience. We were tasked with promoting the UK as well-placed to be the world’s hub for psychedelics clinical research, attracting further collaboration from drug developers across Europe and North America, while also outlining the unique work Clerkenwell is undertaking as Europe’s first commercial clinical psychedelic trials facility.

Approach 

Pagefield worked with Clerkenwell Health to devise media messaging that explained clearly to a non-scientific audience the aims of their research, and to find a strong news hook to help cut through a busy media landscape. We focused our narrative on the possible benefits of psychedelics medicine development for patients affected by a range of complex health conditions, and coupled this with Clerkenwell opening the first commercial facility in Europe dedicated to running psychedelic clinical trials for a range of drug developers.

To keep up momentum following the launch moment, we continued talking to health and science journalists at national publications about Clerkenwell’s work, developing stories and features about next steps for the company. We recently supported Clerkenwell Health’s Series A fundraise and its new partnerships with drug developers in the US and Canada.
