Supporting a business through an acquisition announcement



Pagefield was hired by leading heating, ventilation, and air conditioning company Kooltech to support the communications around announcing a proposed acquisition of the business.


We provided strategic advice to the Kooltech senior leadership team, helping prepare all written communications materials and handling all external communications when the deal was announced. We also advised on internal and stakeholder communications, working alongside the company’s deal advisers and lawyers to prepare messaging for staff, suppliers and customers.

The deal had the potential to fuel further growth for Kooltech – giving them access to new markets and increased distribution and instillation capability – as they continue to help organisations meet the challenges of Net Zero. Pagefield was tasked with emphasising this opportunity whilst reassuring customers, staff, and industry stakeholders that the brand, culture, and customer service that has made Kooltech a success over the years would remain. Kooltech also wanted to raise its profile more broadly to showcase its unique experience and insights in designing, specifying, and engineering climate solutions at a time of increased media and political interest in the area.


The announcement of the deal secured 14 individual pieces of coverage across trade, Scottish, and national media. Several hundred customers and suppliers were also communicated with directly following the announcement to staff, ensuring that they had key information and reassurance of the benefits of this announcement for them.
