Our starting point is to develop a deep understanding of your needs, your business and your environment. We then devise a tailored course to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to achieve your objectives.
Our courses are usually delivered in small workshops for you and your colleagues (usually a maximum of 4 attendees) for either a half day or full day. We also arrange ad hoc open workshops for groups of up to 15 people from across a range of sectors. It’s important for participants to get away from the office and so all workshops are held in our offices.
Some of our most popular training modules are outlined below, but if you have a specific need that is not covered here – please contact us and we’ll see whether we can develop a course just for you.
The most common feedback we hear from journalists is that CEOs and company spokespeople have become ‘boring’, ‘over-trained’ and only interested in ‘sound-bites’. Whether you’re about to embark on a period of profile raising, preparing for a tough interview or want to be ready to defend your reputation in the wake of a crisis, we can develop a training course that will ensure you deliver your message without losing your personality.
Risk Management and Crisis Handling
The best time to prepare for a crisis is before it arises so that you’re not scrabbling around in the full glare of the country’s media, trying to work out who to speak to and what to say. However, in some circumstances this isn’t possible and knowing how to handle a crisis as it unfolds, is also key. This course walks you through the key steps in issues management and crisis handling from a communications perspective including: risk audits and investigations and how to put together a crisis manual.
Presentation Skills and Public Speaking
If you have a specific presentation to give, we can work with you to develop the right content and train you to deliver it with maximum impact. Our objective: to ensure that your time at the podium enhances your reputation and that of your company.

‘Brand storytelling’ has become an industry buzzword, yet few companies are truly using stories to power their communications. Walking into a room full of strangers with the instruction to ‘network’ can strike fear into even the most seasoned professional’s heart. There is an art to networking: knowing how to enter a conversation and how (gracefully) to leave it; how to introduce people and how to garner useful information from your conversation. Networking is only as useful as the follow up so we also cover how to ensure that your initial connection isn’t lost.
What, who, when, how, why? What are stakeholders? How do we define them? Who should you be engaging with – who should your priorities be and what are their motivations and agendas? When should you engage with stakeholders; when is it a nice-to-have and when is it essential? How do you engage in a way that is beneficial for both parties? We cover this and more in this course.
Choosing & Managing your Agency
Working with an agency is the perfect illustration of the rule that you get out, what you put in. On this course we draw from experience on both sides of the client / agency relationship to help you to get the best out of your agency – even if it isn’t us!
